The single most common reason a self drive car rental gets delayed at pickup is paperwork — someone forgets their original licence, brings a photocopy, or turns up with an ID that does not match the booking name. It is entirely avoidable. The three documents you must carry

1. A valid Indian driving licence that is at least one year old.
2. Your original Aadhaar card or another government-issued photo ID.
3. Proof, through those documents, that you are at least 21 years old.

Driving licence rules explained

Your licence is the document we care about most, because it is what legally lets you drive the car. Two conditions apply. First, it must be a valid Indian driving licence — current, not expired. Keep the ID in your wallet rather than buried in checked luggage, especially if you are heading somewhere straight after collecting the car.

Age requirement: why 21 matters

You must be 21 or older to rent. This is a firm eligibility rule, not a guideline, and it works together with the one-year licence condition. In practice that means the youngest eligible renter is someone who is at least 21 and has held their licence for a full year. Your Aadhaar or photo ID doubles as proof of age, which is one more reason the originals matter.

What happens at pickup

When you arrive, we verify your documents, complete a quick inspection of the car together, note the fuel level and hand over the keys. Because fuel is on a full-to-full basis, you will receive the car with a full tank.
